Floyd Mayweather Jr. was born on February 24, 1977 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to father Floyd Sr. and mother Deborah. He has an older brother named Jeff and two sisters named Iyanna and Jirah. The family moved frequently, living in Maryland, New Jersey, California and Nevada while Floyd was growing up as a child. As a teenager he played on various junior league teams until he finally settled on playing defensive back at Grand Rapids Community College in Michigan. In three years he had 20 interceptions and twice won All-American honors, but dropped out after two seasons because of lack of interest in school.
