Herbs Edreal Beazley, Jr. was born on December 18, 1994 in Chicago, Illinois to Yolanda Spivey and Herbs Sr., who is also known as Dr. Herb or Herb Sr.. He has an older sister named Sasha Spivey who is a meteorologist for KCAU-TV in Sioux City, Iowa. Herbs mother died of breast cancer when he was just four years old and his father served time in prison from 2002 to 2007 for gun-related charges. He graduated from Pritzker College Prep High School in 2013 with a 4.0 GPA after getting straight A’s throughout high school and making it onto the Dean’s List every semester.

Herb Coleman, best known by his stage name Herbo, is an American rapper. He started rapping in his teenage years. In 2010, he became a member of XXL Magazine’s Freshman Class. His debut studio album Welcome to Fazoland was released on May 27, 2015. The album peaked at number 49 on Billboard 200 and sold 11,000 copies in its first week. It features guest appearances from Lil Bibby and Chance The Rapper among others. In July 2016 he signed a deal with Cinematic Music Group (CMG). Later that year he signed a distribution deal with Caroline/Capitol/UMG for his label HBK Gang Records. He started his own label alongside Southside called Blue Label in early 2017.

Herb garnered a number of accolades for his breakthrough mixtape Welcome to Fazoland. The tape’s lead single, Hit It from the Back, was featured on Complex’s list of 25 Best Songs of 2015. XXL ranked it among its 40 best rap songs of 2015 and Pitchfork praised it as a highlight from Fazoland. In December 2015, Herb was selected to be one of five rappers to perform at Power 106’s Cali Christmas concert in Los Angeles. He joined Chris Brown, French Montana, Iggy Azalea and DJ Khaled on stage at L.A.’s Honda Center that month.
