Early Life

Joseph Michael Joe Budden was born on February 23, 1981, in Harlem, New York. He lived in Newark until he was about 13 years old and later moved to Teaneck, New Jersey with his mother. In high school, he started making music with classmates DJ Kalkutta and Natito Tito Thomas. This trio would go on to become The Demigodz. While at Rutgers University studying Political Science, he also worked as a pre-school teacher before dropping out and joining New Jersey hip hop collective Ruff Ryders Entertainment with which he released his first two solo albums across 2000s before going on to join Def Jam Recordings.

A highly gifted and passionate rapper, he began his career as a featured artist with various hip-hop groups. He made his debut as an artist with album Halfway House, which was released in 2004 by record label Payday Records. Soon after that, he joined another company known as Amalgam Digital. In addition to working on albums for other rappers like Slaughterhouse, he also launched two more solo albums titled The Growth and No Love Lost respectively. The artist has also worked for TV shows including Wild N Out and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta . His collaboration with numerous artists has helped him significantly increase his net worth of $1 million at present.
