Career winnings

Lewis Hamilton’s estimated winnings for 2017 are $47.8 million, up from his 2016 earnings of $41.5 million. In 2008, he earned $2.4 million in one season (including both prize money and endorsements), but it wasn’t until 2009 that his salary really took off. He became known as a consistent pole-sitter, thanks to his unique driving style, and got a decent number of endorsements under his belt; Mercedes wanted him on their team when they were deciding between Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher (and didn’t know how either would perform). They signed Lewis to an £80 million contract over three years – that’s roughly £20m a year!

Awards

Lewis Hamilton (born on 7 January 1985) is a British racing driver and two-time Formula One World Champion. In 2017, he was ranked third in Forbes’ World’s Highest-Paid Athletes, and was named one of The World’s Most Powerful Athletes by ESPN in 2016. He won his first World Championship title with McLaren in 2008, before moving to Mercedes where he won back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015 before retiring from that team at season’s end. He returned to championship winning ways after re-joining forces with Mercedes for 2017.

Cars

According to Forbes, Lewis earned $93 million in 2018. He earns most of his money from endorsements and sponsorships with companies like Adidas, Puma, and Monster Energy Drink. While he’s a big name in racing, it’s his modeling that actually brings in most of his income. In 2015, he made $7 million from it alone according to reports by Business Insider.

Property

Lewis Hamilton bought a stunning £5 million mansion in Hertfordshire. Lewis’s pad boasts six bedrooms, and is complete with a bar, swimming pool and glass-floored gym. There are also five bathrooms, each one decked out in marble. The current Formula One champion splashed out on his new home in St Albans last year – but it doesn’t look like he’s spent much time there yet. Lewis has spent most of his days since then relaxing at his other property, a £4m flat that he owns in Monaco. But we guess we’d rather stay at our pad than at Monaco’s Grand Prix circuit, wouldn’t you?

In all, these non-racing related businesses bring him approximately $8 million per year.
